The racing legends took hold of a pair of RSV4s at Mugello to the delight of the Italian fans

The motorcycling fans who visited Mugello this week were welcomed with a trip down memory lane, as Max Biaggi and Loris Capirossi took to the track once again for the Aprilia Racers Day event onboard a pair of RSV4 machines. The pair met out on track for one more run on home soil, re-editing the many battles these two legends held in 250cc, 500cc and MotoGP™.

As is always the case neither man held back, showing that they haven’t missed a beat to the delight of the Italian fans, who also got to share time with their icons in the garage. Whether looking for riding advice or simply a photo opportunity, it was a memorable day for all involved.

For Biaggi, picking up the RSV4 that he led to two WorldSBK championships was a delightful experience: “Fantastic! Of course, the things we did when we were racing cannot be repeated, but with this bike you really go fast, and Loris still has his style, so it was like taking a ride down memory lane. This RSV4 is a bike made for the track. It felt like I was back on my SBK. You really go fast and it is a lot of fun. An experience to repeat”.

While Capirossi never got the chance to test the RSV4 in a WorldSBK event, the 125cc and 250cc world champion was impressed by its performance: ““Having the track all to ourselves and precisely here at Mugello was an emotional experience. As always, Max never gives in and he really opens up the throttle. I enjoyed the RSV4 very much, especially in the Factory Works version. At Mugello, power and torque count for a lot and I truly had a lot of fun”.
